Philosophy

Our founders looked to the Word of God for the building blocks with which to build the school’s philosophical foundation. There are six philosophical distinctives of Coastline Christian Academy:

“… bring them (children) up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord.” (Ephesians 6:4) We believe that the school should be an extension of the Godly morals and Biblical principles taught in the home. Coastline Christian Academy exists to support homes that are pursuing Biblical excellence in all areas of life.

“Obey those who have rule over you…” (Hebrews 13:17)
We believe that the school should not usurp the discipline responsibilities of the home, but should reinforce the Godly standards of behavior that are taught in the home. These homes should be actively teaching children to respect, honor and live in accordance with authority.

“…let each of you regard one another as more important than himself.” (Philippians 2:3) We believe that the school should further reinforce the preciousness of those outside of self and enhance a sense of otherness. The Coastline Christian Academy setting provides children with opportunities to be concerned with those around them and to live in a manner of life that reflects Christ in us.

“…be wise in what is good, and innocent in what is evil.” (Romans 16:19) We believe the school should protect the moral innocence of its student body. Coastline Christian Academy does not teach drug education, sex education or issues surrounding homosexuality, same-sex “marriages,” or gender identity.  We believe that it is the responsibility of the parents to teach these issues in the home.

“See to it that no one takes you captive through philosophy and empty deception according to the tradition of men, according to the elementary principles of the world, rather than according to Christ.” (Colossians 2:8) We believe that the school should have a God-centered curriculum in all subject areas and that the Biblical principles relating to each subject should be actively taught.

“And Jesus kept increasing in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and men.” (Luke 2:52) We believe that children need to develop in every aspect of their lives. As such, we endeavor to assist students in growing spiritually, morally, academically, physically, socially, and emotionally.
